Our ultimate directory of Windows PC executables.Checker.exe is a process associated with the "Microsoft Hardware Checker" application developed by Microsoft Corporation. This tool is designed to automatically scan and identify any issues or errors with the hardware components of a computer.
While investigating I found that this .exe can be part of the installation process of some Microsoft hardware products, like the Microsoft LifeChat Headset. It appears checker.exe checks the PC hardware to help their audio headsets function correctly, depending on what hardware the PC has.
