The purpose of a screensaver is to prevent screen burn-in on older CRT monitors and to add a visually appealing element to the screen when the computer is idle. While the Ribbons screensaver does not have any functional use, it is designed to provide a visually pleasing display for users when their computer is not in use. It can be activated and configured through the Windows settings menu.

The publisher of an executable is the entity responsible for its distribution and authenticity. Most processes/executables on your PC should be signed. The signature on the executable should have been verified through a third party whose job it is to make sure the entity is who it says it is. Find an unsigned executable? You should consider scanning any completely unsigned .exe on your PC.
